I have worked with Deb Gowen for nearly five years as she has served as consultant for the self-insured health plan at Whitko Schools. Deb helped Whitko through a time of high claims and premium increases, aggressively pursuing better rates while at the same time helping the school district alter their benefit structure to lower overall costs. She was very passionate about instituting wellness coverage in Whitko’s plan in an effort to reduce claims exposure, not only now, but long-term as well.
Deb has always been more than willing to make the nearly 200 mile roundtrip to meet with employees to either clarify claims issues or to help those who are enduring a major health crisis work through the myriad of claims.
Deb is a very professional and aggressive insurance person, while at the same time an extremely compassionate person who is able to communicate with all levels of employees.
